3D BUILDING MODELS

Bluesky have direct access to the largest collection of high resolution stereo aerial photography in the UK, and we are therefore ideally placed to provide cost effective, accurate and detailed 3D models of the urban environment, using advanced photogrammetric techniques.

Bluesky 3D building models provide a detailed visual representation of the built environment, allowing interaction, analysis and interrogation of our urban landscapes on an unprecedented level. The data can be provided at a variety of levels of details and are tailored to your own specifications.  All models include a detailed terrain model.

Derived photogrammetrically from our high resolution stereo aerial photography, our 3D building models are geographically accurate and specifically designed to support developers, architects and urban planners in making efficient, cost effective and informed decisions about the urban environment.

New technology and advances in image processing allow automated, fully rendered 3D models of entire cities at a fraction of the cost that they were in the past.

WIREFRAME MODELS

Wireframe is just one of the formats that Bluesky can provide 3D models in. The models can be of any scale from small developments to entire cities.

COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN

The 3D models can be used in almost any CAD, or GIS software, as well as specialist software such as 3D Studio and Rhino or even SketchUp

HIGH LEVEL OF DETAIL

Models can be created in LOD1, LOD2 & LOD3 as standard, or with an optional additional feature layer.

All Bluesky 3D models are compatible with GIS and CAD software, such as AutoCAD, Microstation, ArcGIS, MapInfo and Google SketchUp, as well as specialist visualisation packages including 3D Studio Max, Rhino and Maya.

Whatever level of detail you need, Bluesky 3D models can help. We produce our models at three distinct levels of detail (LOD):

LOD1 models are simple block buildings,

LOD2 models are enhanced LOD1 models but with extra building details such as dormer windows

LOD3 models containing fully modelled roof structures, including chimneys and other small detail.

Accompanying terrain information is always created at the same time, which ensures the most realistic 3D environment is created, every time.

SKYLINE 3D VIEWER

Bluesky is able to bring your 3D models to life and make it easy to share with Skyline online 3D viewer which is one of the most powerful geospatially enabled virtual worlds available.  It enables organisations to view and query all of their GIS and other geospatial data over real terrain and in a fully interactive 3D environment, then serve this up over the internet to the users within the organisation or even the wider pubic, through an easy-to-use and familiar web browser interface.

The system can also be used for planning, enforcement, asset management, environment and security to name but a few applications.  The 3D model can have aerial photography and/or a map data base as the backdrop.  Almost any GIS data or other location data held by your organisation can be included and the 3D models can be photorealistic and queryable.
