Aerial night maps of Leicester to look at energy usage

Bluesky

A Leicestershire firm has taken these aerial photographs of Leicester during the day and then at night to see how much light is being used.

Bluesky International Ltd used a camera with state-of-the-art thermal imaging sensors to capture the city at night, known as nightmapping.

It is working with the University of Leicester, which will use the pictures to produce data to help combat light pollution, energy wastage and help to improve energy efficiency.
